This young Sheltie mix had been surviving on scraps of food discarded
at a campground. She became another "pick-up" by the dog warden
and another "drop-off" at the shelter. Very timid, she was
not doing well in the noisy, frantic atmosphere of the shelter, so we
collected her and placed her in a foster home.
At first she was terrified of everything and everyone, but slowly came
to trust her foster family and enjoyed the company of her canine playmates.
As always, we arranged for her to get a check-up by our vet. We also
arranged for her to get her shots and to be spayed.
No
sooner did we advertise for a home, than we had lots of calls asking
to adopt her. Her timid nature required a quiet home with a family who
would be patient and give her time to settle in. Bill and Becky were
the perfect couple.
