Jessie
and Sammie are two sisters from a litter rescued by our vet, Dr. Cheryl
Haywood. Along with their Dad and sibilings, they lived in an outside
pen at the vet's house. However, with winter approaching, Dr. Haywood
was concerned about them being outside. Guess what? Jill's husband
was on an extended business trip, so Jill took the two girls home
with her. What a house full .... with her own two dogs (and cat),
plus Hobo and two big puppies. Dog walking had to be done in shifts!
The
pups were 4 months old when they moved indoors, and it was very difficult
to housetrain them, especially as they were too big for Jill to take
them to work on a regular basis. However, by Christmas they had just
about sorted it out, although chewing was high on their agenda!
Despite being beautiful dogs with great personalities, we had a hard
time finding good homes for them. Although we had hoped to place them
together, it became obvious that this would not be possible. It was
New Year's Eve before we placed Sammie with a family in Gibsonia,
and mid-February before we found a home for Jessie.
