At
5 years old, Clemmie has lived her entire life outside. She had not
been spayed, so we have no idea whether she has given birth to any
pups or not. The owner "doesn't recall" seeing any puppies
wandering around.
Clemmie came to our attention when a relative brought the dog in
to be groomed. The dog was in poor shape, and the area around her
rear was bitten raw by flies.
After grooming and on our advice, the relative persuaded the owner
to give up the dog. Clemmie is now living as an inside pet with an
older couple in Lawrenceville. Second Chance Pet Rescue paid for her
shots and any other health care she needed to get into good shape.
Pittsburgh Spay and Neuter, a low cost service for city inhabitants,
did the spaying.
