Chesney

Chesney needs a hero - someone who will take the time to let him settle in and learn to trust his new family. .This handsome, 5 year-old, AKC registered, yellow Labrador was surrendered to the Castaic shelter by his owner. He has been in foster care with us since 11/23. He arrived malnourished, with fly strikes on both ears and a very nasty strain of kennel cough. It took him weeks to recover from the virus and longer to get some flesh on his bones. Chesney had obviously been abused in his former life He is wonderful with his foster family and the canine pack he joined, but is very wary of strangers. He loves to lay around the house, happily goes into his crate and really enjoys an off-leash hike in the hills every day with his foster Mom and canine buddies. Chesney needs a quiet home, preferably with an older person or a couple who have no kids or grown kids.
