Bess

Bess spent the first 3 years of her life chained up in a garage. Her life changed dramatically when she was rescued by a friend and volunteer of 2nd Chance. Unfortunately, 6 years later, her owner retired and had to move to a place where her dogs could not go. Bess has been in foster care for over a year. She has a smattering of gray around her muzzle, but that is all the aging she shows for her 10 years of life. Bess has a very gentle disposition. She is spayed, microchipped, current on shots and housetrained. She has been diagnosed with Cushing's disease , reducing her life expectancy to a couple of years at most. She currently shows no sign of her illness. Bess gets along well with other dogs (as long as they aren't too pushy) and presently shares her foster home with many canines. She also gets along well with cats. She loves to join the pack on their daily off-leash hike in the hills, but is just as happy to spend her days snuggled up in front of the TV, or watch the world go by from a comfy chair. Bess has a fear of slippery tiles or wood floors and needs a home with carpets as the main floor coverings.
